The Police have arrested a skitmaker, Eyinatayo Iluyomade, 19 for allegedly dropping a threat note of robbery at a bank on the premise of prank.
Iluyomade was said to have dropped the note at First Bank’s Sabo branch counter in Ondo town on Friday.
Confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the Ondo State Police command, Funmilayo Odunlami said that he made an expensive and sensitive joke that cannot be glossed over.
Odunlami confirmed that the skitmaker dropped the note around 1pm detailing that he and his gang members will be back to rob the bank.
He has been charged to court on a three-count charge for conspiracy, threat, and manner likely to pose a security threat.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges.
He explained to the court that he is a comedian and the threat he dropped at the First Bank branch was just one of his pranks, adding that he had been doing them in Lagos and recently moved base to Ondo town.
The trial magistrate denied a bail application until the other members of the gang are arrested.
Iluyomade said that “no other gang wanted to rob the bank as it was written in the note,” pleading with the court to forgive him while vowing not to play such prank again.
