After a momentary reprieve yesterday, the legal woes of the suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police Abba Kyari continues today as the Federal High Court in Abuja declined his bail request.
Kyari and four others are standing trial for alleged hard drug trafficking offences preferred against them by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).
He was arraigned in March over an alleged involvement in a cocaine deal, a development that added to his spectacular descent from a respected super cop to suspect after similar mention in a wire fraud case against Ramon Abbas ‘HushPuppi’ in the United States of America.
Ruling on the bail application, Justice Emeka Nwite said the applicants failed to present sufficient materials and evidence to warrant the granting of the fresh application.
