After several days of silence running into weeks following his detention, interrogation and subsequent deportation back to Nigeria from the United Kingdom, Peter Obi eventually broke his silence with another controversial Tweet in which he gleefully proclaimed himself “a new order” despite his infamous years as a political under-achiever amidst a catalogue of fictitious and irrelevant rhetorics.
Following the tweet, well meaning Nigerians have resorted to setting the records straight, reminding the former Governor of his political antecedent down the years.
Another user @AdekoyaAdesesan wrote:
“Governance is not about talking, it’s about doing. You had an opportunity as Governor of Anambra State for 8 year’s, still you don’t tell us how much impact you made to their lives and you are asking us to trust you with the entire Country ????”
In another tweet a user with handle @MrAfobaje wrote:
“You speak as if you are a new entrant into the Nigeria political sphere.
You have been in and around government since 1996.
Chairman Tin Island port 96-98.
Governor 06 – 14.
Presidential advicer 14- 15.
VP candidate 19
That’s almost 30 years!!!”
Many others simply laughed off his antics at portraying himself as a new breed
Several other users literally did exposés on Peter Obi’s culpability in the darkest ages of Military and Democratic rule in Nigeria especially his exploits with former Dictator Gen. Sanni Abacha.
