In what has become a hackneyed pattern of Peter Obi, the Labour party presidential candidate has again been found culpable of making irreconcilable statements.
Obi, in an interview with Arise TV on Monday, had admitted to owning a property in the UK, saying that aside from that, he does not own any other property anywhere outside Nigeria.
This latest revelation from Obi contradicts a claim he made during his campaign for the seat of presidency — a bid that ended with him finishing a distant third in the eventual election.
Speaking during a presidential town hall prior to the 2023 elections, Obi had said that the only property he owns was his house in Onitsha.
“The only place I have a house, officially, youths, is in Onitsha,” Obi was quoted as saying.
These dual conflicting claims from Obi have again brought to public scrutiny the integrity of the former Anambra state governor with several instances abound where he was caught making statements of falsehoods and reeling out figures fraught with inaccuracies.
Distrust of his character has increasingly grown over the past few months with many now wary of his predisposition towards fabrications and fallacies meant to hoodwink and titilate his unsuspecting audience into undiscerning followership.
