Operation Hadarin Daji troops have staged a successful rescue mission in Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State, recovering 24 individuals held by bandits.
The operation came on the heels of an intelligence report indicating a bandits’ stronghold in Kabugu Lamba forest.
The troops clashed with the criminals in a firefight, resulting in the fleeing of the bandits, who left their captives behind.
Four bandits lost their lives in the confrontation, while several others escaped with gunshot injuries.
Among the rescued were 14 men, nine women, and an infant who were promptly transferred to relevant authorities to expedite their reunion with family members.
This triumphant operation follows closely after another successful rescue in the Maradun Local Government Area of Zamfara State, where the police saved nine children who had been abducted by bandits while they were gathering firewood.
