Supporters of Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 elections, have recklessly called for a political coup against the country in what has been linked to their pains from being defeated at the polls.
With the recent disturbing coup that has rocked Niger Republic, supporters of Obi have impulsively taken a cue from the unfortunate happening to a fellow West African nation to call for a coup against the country, likening the Niger situation to the 2023 presidential election that has continued to receive applause from several international observers who have described it as free, fair and credible.
Aisha Yesufu, a high-placed member of the ‘Obidients’, took to her Twitter account recently to elaborate on a coup situation in Nigeria.
Yesufu incited calls for a coup in the country while leveraging insensitively on the upheaval in the troubled African country, going on to a raise a false alarm of democracy being at risk.
The tweet has since been met with stern resistance as Nigerians pulled her and other Obi’s supporters up, describing the call as reckless, desperate, and undemocratic against a country that is on the path of economic repair for stability and prosperity.
