The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) recently announced some of its key strategic interventions have resulted into a significant drop in the price of diesel by about 42 per cent across the nation thereby taking Diesel prices down to as low as #540 from Depot. The Court of Appeal in Abuja has slammed a N40milion fine on an Abuja-based lawyer, Ambrose Owuru, for filing a frivolous suit to prevent the May 29 inauguration of President-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu. In a judgment on Thursday, a three-member panel of the court was unanimous in holding that the appeal by Owuru and his party, the Hope Democratic Party (HDP) amounted to an abuse of the court process.
