After the defeat of Peter Obi, their preferred presidential candidate in the 2023 elections, the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC has taken a hypocritical U-turn to protest against the particular policy their backed candidate called a scam and vowed to take out if he became president. The body, who began its protest in some states today, has been berated for being politically-motivated beyond its supposed sincere movement for the interest of workers in the country. By Temitope Ajayi A pattern has emerged in the arguments many of the partisan and ideological critics routinely make on television stations. There is this tendency to always muddle up facts and mislead the public, notably through willful ignorance. One point that has been erroneously made is the view that the Federal Government is not doing anything about fixing the four refineries it owns. This view is incorrect. The Federal Government, through the NNPC in 2021, signed a deal with an Italian company, Maire Tecnimont SpA, for a complete revamp of the two refineries in Port Harcourt at a cost…

Peter Obi and Labour Party have boosted their ‘legal team’ with fiction writer Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie who appeared in the presidential election petition court on Tuesday for the party’s ‘sinking’ bid to challenge the victory of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. It will be recalled this comes just days after their final written address to the election tribunal was described as mere fiction, having been found to be void of a single evidence to corroborate their arguments against the victory of Tinubu. Reputed for her fiction writing prowess, Chimamanda, who had been a cryptic supporter of the Obi-Datti campaign, appeared to…
