I wish to express my deepest gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the invaluable opportunity to serve the administration and our nation as his Special Assistant on Social. I accept the role with great honor and enthusiasm, aware of the immense responsibility that comes with it.
It is my belief that my appointment not only reflects the President’s acknowledgement of the power of the ‘digital town square’ and its crucial role in shaping public opinion, but also his commitment to fostering transparency, accountability and the attainment of an informed and engaged citizenry.
I pledge to serve with unwavering dedication and loyalty to these ideals while advancing the goals of the administration. I will uphold the highest standards of professionalism and integrity to make certain that the President’s understandably high expectations, informed by his already known prioritization of competence and my own experience in the field of media, are fully met.
I also wish to note the significance of my appointment as a remarkable sign of President Bola Tinubu’s continued allegiance to social justice and equity, particularly the meaningful inclusion of young people in leadership and governance.
It removes any doubt that may exist on his intention to continue as President his fine, unmatched legacy of opening the doors of opportunities to young people to ensure that their views, concerns and talents impact decision-making and governance.
This naturally makes him a credibly ally of young people and their aspirations. I, therefore, urge young people like myself across the country to look beyond the partisan divide that may have defined the electoral season and commit ourselves to the success of an administration that is sincere and resolute in its defense and advancement of our interests.
As Mr. President charged the nation in his inauguration speech, political coloration should fade and we should see ourselves no more than as Nigerians. Equal shareholders in the joint task of delivering and maintaining a safe, stable, and prosperous society. Let us come together and embrace patriotism, with each playing his part to ensure that we all thrive.
Once again, I am grateful to Mr. President for this immense opportunity and I promise to serve meritoriously as a worthy ambassador of young people.
