Over 45 schools have been reopened in Zamfara State by the state government. Recall that 75 schools were closed down over insecurity in September 2021 following the abduction of students of Government Day Secondary School, Kaya, in the Maradun Local Government Area of the state. The Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Education, Alhaji Kabiru Attahiru disclosed that 45 out of 75 of those schools have now been reopened. Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has received the Federal Government of Nigeria letter of approval for the construction of the proposed Lekki international airport. The presentation was made on Tuesday by Aviation Minister Hadi Sirika at the Ehingbeti Lagos Economic Summit. The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) on Tuesday handed over 86 pieces of impounded drones to the Nigerian Navy. It said the gesture was in line with the renewed synergy among the security agencies. Controller Suleiman Bomoi, speaking at the handover ceremony, said the drones were imported without the mandatory End User Certificate from the Office of the National Security Adviser (NSA) and had to be seized. The Independent National Electoral Commission on Tuesday disclosed the deletion of 2.7 million cases of dual registration carried out during the recent Continuous Voter Registration, CVR. The commission said the affected persons have been deleted from the voters register.
