The House of Representatives has approved the request of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for an amendment to the 2022 appropriation act to allow the Federal Government to take N500 billion for palliatives to Nigerians to cushion the pains of subsidy removal. Olalekan Ponle, alias Woodberry, has been sentenced to a prison term of eight years and three months by a United States district court for engaging in multimillion-dollar fraud. Woodberry, known for his association with Ramon Abbas, popularly known as Hushpuppi, another Nigerian convicted for internet fraud in November 2022, received the verdict.
