The federal government has set up a special tactical committee to look into its no work no pay stance against members of the Academic staff union of Universities in a bid to bring an end to the ongoing strike.
This follows another round of meeting between the minister of Education Alhaji Adamu Adamu with Pro-Chancellors, Chairmen of councils as well as vice chancellors of universities.
The meeting which was held behind closed doors lasted over two hours aiming to seek an end to the seven month old industrial action.
After the meeting, the Director press and public relations at the ministry of education Ben Goong disclosed that the meeting sought to address all lingering issues including issues around salary increment and welfare for lectures.
