Returning home for the first time since he became President of the country, the visit of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to Lagos was not only significant but resounding.
The former Governor of Lagos State received a warm welcome with grand celebrations at the airport, followed by a dinner hosted by the Executive Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwoolu.
President Tinubu attended a dinner in his honor, where he was joined by present and former governors, as well as leaders of the National Assembly.
The event, held at Marina, was a significant gathering that included all of Tinubu’s successors as Lagos State Governors since 1999.
Additionally, President Tinubu participated in Jumat prayers at the Central Mosque in Idumota, where he joined Muslim faithfuls in worship.
During his visit to Lagos, President Tinubu received a special guest, President Umaro Sissoco Embaló of Guinea-Bissau and Chairman of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government.
The presence of President Tinubu in Lagos caused a buzz on Lagos Island, particularly when he paid homage to the respected Oba Rilwan Aremu Akiolu at his palace.
