The post-election trauma troubling the camp of Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi, has taken another leap as some of them have taken to their social media accounts to call for a military coup in the country.
This is part of several efforts aimed at blackmailing the judiciary ahead of the final judgement at the Presidential election tribunal whose date is expected to be announced soon.
Some of the users, with large following on social media platform X(formerly called Twitter),are popular voices in the “Obidient” camp and this has raised concerns among Nigerians who have called for such calls to be condemned.
A user with the username @drcharlesodogwu posted:
“Is Nigeria immune to coup?
The Judiciary must know that beyond the Obidients, the MILITARY is also watching!
Do not murder democracy!

Another one with the username @Naughti_awol tweeted;
“When coup happened in Guinea Conakry, the people cheered the soldiers.”
It happened in Mali, the people cheered.
It happened in Burkina Faso, they cheered.
And now in Niger, the people are cheering.
Trust me, if it happens in Nigeria, we will cheer.
Except the courts work.”
Meanwhile, several other users have expressed their disappointment in Mr Peter Obi for not deeming it fit to condemn this subtle way of harassing the judiciary and threatening the country’s existence despite being on a Twitter Space for over 3 hours on Saturday.
The Judiciary has been on trial since the legal representatives of the winner of the last Presidential Election, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu wrote their final address at the election Petition Tribunal which watered down the petitions of Labour Party and Mr Peter Obi that seeks to disqualify the president on technical basis such as the requirement of 25% in FCT among others.
