Supporters of Peter Obi have turned on Doyin Okupe, the Director General of the Labour Party Presidential Campaign, for expressing his admiration for the ministerial nominees put forth by President Tinubu, while also voicing his concern over the exclusion of former Governor El Rufai.
Okupe had called on the Nigerian Senate to reconsider their decision, highlighting El Rufai’s undeniable competence and capacity to perform.
“If it is true that he is being considered for the power ministry, I don’t think we should cut our noses to spite our faces,” Okupe emphasized.
He further suggested that the Senate might request an undertaking from El Rufai, making it a condition of his confirmation that he refrains from making any comments or remarks regarding religion while in office.
Stressing the significance of the power ministry in our economy and national efforts to combat poverty, Okupe underscored the vital role that El Rufai could play in this sector.
Okupe’s remarks have stirred controversy among Peter Obi’s supporters on Twitter, who have labeled him a mole within the campaign.
@Obianuju23 Everyday I thank God that my parents are not actively involved in politics because how do I explain to the world that my dad is on Twitter defending El rufai of all pple? I mean Mr doyin knew that elrufai is a religious extremist but want him to get the position? God abeg
@Esteembehemoth; Nothing is more regrettable & pitiful than seeing a naive old man.
One of the problems with most older Nigerians is that their experience in life has invariably counted for nothing. They use to sit on the chair to see things,

Our elders keep showing their lack of integrity just to pander to any govt in power.
You are advocating for a radical religious extremist but you are not a fan?
