Olusegun Dada, Special Assistant on Social Media to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on Friday, August 11, was honoured for his meritorious contributions to youth development in the country.
This came at the Emerging Leaders Summit organised by the Lagos State Chapter of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) led by Comrade Billiaminu Sulaimon. The event took place in Alausa, Ikeja.
Speaking as a Panellist at the Summit themed “Green Skills for Youths: Towards a Sustainable World”, Dada emphasised the readiness of the administration to offer job and employment opportunities to young people through investments in the green economy.
He noted the global shift marked by climate change activism and said Nigeria, under President Tinubu’s leadership, will seize advantage of available global investment opportunities to ensure that Nigerian youths acquire the skills and network required to secure gainful opportunities and lead innovations aimed at sustainable growth and environmental protection.
He thanked the organisers for the Leadership Award given to him and pledged his continued devotion to youth inclusion in politics and governance.
Dada was appointed in July by President Bola Tinubu as his Special Assistant on Social Media owing to his celebrated professionalism and outstanding feats as a Digital Communications Strategist.
He is also one of Nigeria’s most prominent youth voices at the forefront of various youth advocacies, some of which led to historic constitutional changes and leadership reforms.
His appointment drew widespread applause and was deemed an indication of President Tinubu’s faithful commitment to his promise to empower and include young people in his administration.
