The Governor of Adamawa State, Ahamadu Finitiri, has extended his congratulations to Nyesom Wike on his recent appointment as the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
This move, however, has raised eyebrows and led to speculations about a potential schism within the ranks of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), as Finitiri’s public endorsement of Wike seems to signal a shift away from his earlier association with former vce President Atiku Abubakar, a key figure in the PDP.
Governor Finitiri’s congratulatory message to Wike comes in the wake of the latter’s successful Senate screening and subsequent elevation to the coveted position.
In his message, Finitiri commended Wike’s leadership qualities and his commitment to delivering service and good governance during his tenure as the Governor of Rivers State.
“Congratulations on your Senate screening and appointment as Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja,” Governor Finitiri’s statement reads.
“Your Excellency, Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, you have set precedence and demonstrated exemplary leadership traits by delivering service and good governance according to the people’s needs during your tenure as Governor of Rivers State, which I believe earned you this position.”
The gesture of support from Governor Finitiri suggests a noteworthy departure from his past political affiliations.
Finitiri had been closely associated with former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, a prominent PDP figure and presidential candidate.
The divergence in his allegiances has sparked speculation that Finitiri’s endorsement of Wike could potentially signal a growing divide within the PDP ranks.
