In a landmark initiative to foster transparency and accountability, the Nigerian Presidency has launched the Citizens’ Delivery Tracker (CDT), a platform designed to create a robust feedback mechanism between the government and its citizens. The unveiling of the CDT marks a significant step in the Bola Tinubu administration’s commitment to engaging with the populace on its eight key priority areas.
The platform is available as a web link (app.cdcu.gov.ng) and will be available as an app for download in the next few months,” said Bala-Usman.
The President’s Special Adviser on Policy and Coordination, Hadiza Bala-Usman, announced the rollout of the CDT during a ceremony in Abuja. The platform, which is accessible via a web link and will soon be available as a mobile application, is set to revolutionize the way citizens interact with government policies and programs.
The CDT is the result of extensive planning and collaboration, following President Tinubu’s directive for a ministerial assessment at a Cabinet Retreat last year. The platform’s development involved numerous bilateral meetings with various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies over a six-week period to ensure alignment with the government’s objectives.
The eight priority areas outlined by the administration include economic reform for sustained growth, strengthening national security, achieving food security through agriculture, and unlocking energy and natural resources for development. Additionally, the focus is on enhancing infrastructure and transportation, bolstering education, health, and social investment, accelerating diversification through industrialization and innovation, and improving governance for effective service delivery.
The CDT is poised to empower citizens by enabling them to report on project-based deliverables and track the government’s performance against set key performance indicators. This level of engagement is expected to ensure that the administration’s deliverables are met and that the citizens’ voices are heard in the governance process.
With the CDT, the Tinubu administration is setting a new standard for citizen engagement in governance, ensuring that the Nigerian people are active participants in the country’s development journey. The platform’s introduction is a clear reflection of the government’s dedication to fulfilling its promises and enhancing the welfare of its citizens.
