Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo of Anambra State has publicly thrown his weight behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s leadership, praising the administration’s bold reform agenda.
Speaking to journalists after his visit to the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Tuesday, Soludo said Tinubu appeared vibrant and resolute in steering Nigeria through its economic challenges.
“The President is in such high spirits, hale and hearty, and it was such a pleasure to meet with him; it was quite a pleasant meeting,” he said.
Soludo, a long-time friend of the President, dismissed political differences as a barrier to collaboration.
“I support him, and I’m impressed by the bold steps he has taken, particularly in the areas of the economy, the structural reforms… we’re taking the right steps and we need to stay the course,” he said.
The governor also urged progressive political forces to forge partnerships that advance democracy and promote nationwide growth.
On security, Soludo said his government had enacted the Homeland Security Law to address threats comprehensively, driving criminal networks, including deceptive traditionalists, out of the state.
He emphasised that Anambra’s approach combines kinetic military measures with non-kinetic strategies like job creation and youth empowerment.
“In one year, we trained and empowered about 5,000 youths, and another 8,700 will soon benefit from funding… creating thousands of youth millionaires in three years,” he explained.
