President Bola Tinubu has paid tribute to the Emir of Zuru, His Royal Highness, Major General Muhammadu Sani Sami (Gomo II), who passed away on Sunday, describing his death as a monumental loss to the nation.
In a condolence statement issued through his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President said the Emir lived a life of sacrifice, loyalty, and service to Nigeria.
Tinubu highlighted the late Emir’s patriotic role during the Nigerian Civil War between 1967 and 1970, as well as his leadership qualities when he served as the military governor of Bauchi State.
Beyond his public service, the President noted that Emir Sami’s reign over the Zuru Emirate brought about peace, development, and a sense of unity that will not be forgotten.
“Nigeria will long remember the late emir’s contributions as an administrator and revered traditional ruler,” President Tinubu said.
While offering his condolences to the government and people of Kebbi State, the President prayed that Almighty Allah grants the late monarch eternal rest and comforts his family and subjects who are mourning the loss.
