A past statement from Anambra State Governor, Charles Soludo, has resurfaced online, showing him mocking Peter Obi’s 2023 presidential ambition. Soludo had claimed that the Labour Party’s candidate indirectly assisted Bola Tinubu’s victory by dividing the opposition votes.
Speaking before the 2023 general election, Soludo said Obi’s presidential campaign lacked the structure needed to win and only ended up weakening the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which, according to him, gave the All Progressives Congress (APC) an advantage.
“Indeed, if I were Asiwaju Tinubu, I would even give Peter Obi money as someone heading one of the departments of his campaign,” Soludo had said humorously at the time.
The old remarks have resurfaced online, sparking mixed reactions among Nigerians, especially following new defections from PDP to APC. Many social media users have described Soludo’s past statement as a prediction that appears to have come true.
