Fresh intelligence reports suggest that the upcoming #FreeNnamdiKanu protest, set for October 20, may have deeper coordination than publicly claimed.
According to a reliable source, activist Omoyele Sowore and a relative of Nnamdi Kanu allegedly held a secret meeting with Sheikh Ibrahim El-Zakzaky, the leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN). The purpose of the meeting was reportedly to seek his backing for the planned protest.
The source disclosed that El-Zakzaky may have agreed to rally his supporters—who are known for staging large street demonstrations—to participate in the protest. Reports further indicate that members of the group plan to wear white clothes instead of their usual black attire to avoid easy identification during the march.
Security officials have also received information about discreet meetings held in major Abuja markets, where some traders were urged to close their shops as a form of support.
Authorities are said to be on alert and have intensified security operations across the Federal Capital Territory to prevent any possible unrest.
