Department of State Services (DSS) has brought Nigeria’s former Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, and his son, Abdulazeez Malami, before a court on allegations of terrorism financing and illegal possession of firearms.
The two were arraigned on Tuesday before Federal High Court, sitting in Abuja, with the case handled by Justice Joyce Abdumalik.
According to a report by Channels Television, the DSS filed a five-count charge against Malami and his son. The counts include allegations linked to terrorism financing as well as illegal firearm possession.
The DSS is Nigeria’s main domestic intelligence and security agency, and arraignment is the stage where suspects are formally brought to court and the charges against them are presented.
Further details on the case are expected.
