Gambia-born Nigerian actress Rosy Meurer has lashed out at online critics amid renewed public attention surrounding her husband, businessman Olakunle Churchill, and his former wife, actress Tonto Dikeh.
The controversy followed a recent public reunion between Churchill and Dikeh, who were previously married and share a son. Images and reports of their interaction sparked heavy reactions on social media, with many users directing comments at Meurer.
In posts shared on her Instagram story, Meurer said she was tired of being silent while people spread what she described as false narratives about her life. She insisted she would not stay in any situation that made her unhappy.
“You think I will live in bondage and be quiet and die inside? Na love I love, I no kill person, and if (God forbid) circumstances happen that I am no longer comfortable in marriage, I will leave without you fools being the reason behind it.
“You all open your mouths to be telling me why say this or why say that! I should not speak my truth. When you daily pour out trash that you know nothing about on my page, it is okay. But when it’s time for me to tell you the truth, you so wish was otherwise I should keep quiet” she added.
She also dismissed claims that she was once a friend of Dikeh or that she had worked as Churchill’s personal assistant before their relationship. According to her, those accusations are untrue and have been repeated unfairly online.
“You think people are fols. All you idits sit and open your sour mouths commenting on my page day and night about how I stole my friend’s husband or how I was a PA which I wasn’t and you don’t want me to say my truth? I should live with the lies.
“I’ve been on my own since, minding my business and respecting myself but all of you evil witches will come out every eke market day to say shit all the time cuz I chose to be quiet but this is the height of it. If I don’t speak up for myself no one will. Make I dey fear una say wetin happen.” she added.
The situation has reignited debate about Churchill’s past marriage and the circumstances surrounding it. While the recent reunion was centred on their son, online discussions quickly shifted toward Meurer’s role in the family’s history.
Her comments have since generated mixed reactions, with some supporters praising her for speaking up and others continuing to question her involvement.
