The Nigerian Navy has taken delivery of 12 new Comstrac System Ovation Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) it acquired to improve its fight against maritime crime. The Chief of Naval Staff (CNS), Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla, on Friday, commissioned and inducted the UAVs into service during a ceremony held at the Naval Air Base in Ojo, Lagos. The Nigerian Navy Forward Operating Base (FOB) Igbokoda in Ondo has announced the arrest of a 77-meter-long Motor Tanker (MT) VINNALARIS 1 LAGOS. A UK Commercial Court handling legal battle between Process & Industrial Developments Limited (P&ID) and the Nigerian government has awarded Nigeria £20 million in damages and compensation to be paid within 28 days. This ruling follows Nigeria’s historic victory in October 2023, which saw the court quash the fraudulent $11 billion arbitration award which was in favor of P&ID. Kogi State Police Command has confirmed that gunmen attacked the Secretary of the Kogi State Governorship Election Tribunal, Mr David Umar Mike in Lokoja and carted away sensitive petition documents on the just concluded gubernatorial election in the state.
