The deposed Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero, has arrived in the ancient city Kano to resume duties as Emir of Kano. The Deputy Governor of Kano State has accused the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu of ordering the return of the deposed Emir. Following his dethronement by Gov. The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) has revealed that Nigeria’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) grew by 2.98% (year-on-year) in real terms in the first quarter of 2024. According to the Nigerian Gross Domestic Product Report for Q1 2024 released by the NBS, the GDP growth rate is higher than the 2.31% recorded in the first quarter of 2023 and lower than the fourth quarter of 2023, which was 3.46%. Despite the initial outcry it generated, the mass wedding of 100 orphaned girls in Niger State has finally taken place today after the Ministry of Women Affairs reached an understanding with the major actors involved including the Speaker of Niger State House of Assembly, Abdulmalik Sarkindaji and the Emir of Kotangora, Mohammed Muazu.  The Women Affairs Minister, Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye, earlier on Thursday, announced scholarships and gave various gift items to the 100 orphaned girls in Niger State, ahead of their mass wedding today.  The orphans were however married in separate ceremonies as part of the agreement reached between the Speaker…
