By Dada Olusegun In 2013, the All Progressives Congress rose like a phoenix from the ashes of three legacy political parties each of which subscribe to a progressive brand of politics and ideology. The new party that emerged offered Nigerians a pathway to people-centered progressivism. Millions of Nigerians came on board the APC train and in 2015 unseat the PDP from power. President Muhammadu Buhari, a highly principled socialist mounted the saddle of leadership, inheriting a country almost in comatose with insecurity, a crumbling economy and pervasive grand corruption. With an empty treasury and poor revenue due to low crude…

By Michael Chibuzo In the first part of this series, I introduced the raft of bold economic decisions taken by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the early days of his administration and how it signalled an ambitious attempt to re-engineer Nigeria’s economy away from unhealthy inefficiencies towards productivity-driven growth. However in just 10 months in office, the NLC President, Joe Ajaero seems to be redefining the functions of the NLC and its modus operandi for worse. In the wake of the removal of fuel…

On Monday, November 6th, 2023, Nigerians were yet again subjected to the gruelling task of listening to the lamentations of Mr. Peter Obi, the Labour Party Presidential candidate in the 2023 presidential election. I have since discovered that it is less tortuous to read the text of these Obi incoherent and poor content press conferences than listen to the man as he struggles to read out the content. Peter Obi, a man who was a happy beneficiary of Nigeria’s judicial system starting from the Federal High Court, Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court and was restored to office…
