The Supreme Court has reinstated the terrorism charges filed against Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Independent People of Biafra (IPOB) by the federal government. The Court in a judgment it delivered today upheld the Federal Government’s Appeal challenging the verdict of the Appeal Court which had earlier dismissed some of the charges filed against Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. The candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 presidential election, Mr. Peter Obi has donated a sum of N1 million to about 1,000 hospital staff members treating victims of the recent Drone Strike mistakenly carried out in Tudun Biri, Kaduna State by the Nigerian Army.  The former Anambra governor said the donation should be used to buy a bottle of Coke for each of the hospital workers stating that he acknowledges the important role they are playing in the hospital. The Nigerian Navy has taken delivery of 12 new Comstrac System Ovation Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) it acquired to improve its fight against maritime crime. The Chief of Naval Staff (CNS), Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla, on Friday, commissioned and inducted the UAVs into service during a ceremony held at the Naval Air Base in Ojo, Lagos. The Nigerian Navy Forward Operating Base (FOB) Igbokoda in Ondo has announced the arrest of a 77-meter-long Motor Tanker (MT) VINNALARIS 1 LAGOS. A UK Commercial Court handling legal battle between Process & Industrial Developments Limited (P&ID) and the Nigerian government has awarded Nigeria £20 million in damages and compensation to be paid within 28 days. This ruling follows Nigeria’s historic victory in October 2023, which saw the court quash the fraudulent $11 billion arbitration award which was in favor of P&ID.
