An online news medium, Nairametrics stirred a little controversy last weekend when it inaccurately reported that the federal government has awarded the contract for the construction of the approximately 700 kilometres Lagos-Calabar coastal highway to Hitech Construction Company. Many commentators immediately starting seeking clarifications from the Minister of Works, Engr. Dave Umahi on how the contract was awarded and if due process and relevant procurement requirements were followed before the award. However, it is necessary to point out that a more critical analysis of the news report by Nairametrics would reveal that there was never a mention of an…

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has stated that African nations will no longer accept a situation in which human rights advocacy is used by wealthy and powerful nations to stop developing economies from dealing decisively with malign actors who illicitly siphon and smuggle out the continent’s vast mineral resources while smuggling in western-made weapons, which enrich the wealthiest economies in the world at the parasitic expense of African stability and wealth creation. By Fanimokun Oluwasegun John  David Hundeyin is a name I have come to unconsciously associate with fiction and Illusion. Watching his latest video appeal to the Ghanaian president simply reinforces my description of him. David Hundeyin in the past three years has not been content with restricting himself to…

Yesterday, I once again laboured to watch the presentation of the former Governor of my dear state, Anambra in Bangladesh at a Commonwealth Trade and Investment Forum during a panel discussion on formalising and internationalising SMEs. Mr. Peter Obi in his usual manner of reeling out both necessary and unnecessary figures and statistics to impress his audience found himself struggling to remain coherent. From the look on the faces of the audience and panelists during Mr. Peter Obi’s presentation, one could see a feeling of ‘what’s this man saying exactly!’ written all over them especially when he struggled to…
