The Independent National Electoral Commission in Gombe State has cautioned political parties and their candidates against the usage of vulgar language that could threaten peace during electioneering. An Ikeja High Court on Tuesday sentenced the deposed Baale of Shangisha in the Magodo area of Lagos, Mutiu Ogundare to a 15-year jail term. The traditional ruler was charged with faking his kidnapping and breaching of peace. Recall that the former Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode on July 13, 2022, suspended the Baale over a kidnap incident. The Naira on Monday appreciated slightly against the dollar at the Investors and Exporters window, exchanging at 436. The rate signifies a 0.08 percent appreciation compared to the N436.33 for which the dollar exchanged earlier on September 23. The open indicative rate closed at N435.67 to the dollar.
