The Super eagles of Nigeria are aiming to put up a better showing against the Foxes of Algeria in their upcoming encounter on Tuesday following their 2-2 draw on Friday with many Nigerians have expressed optimism ahead of the tie.
The eagles had played out a somewhat disappointing draw with the Algeria B team after initially falling behind as a result of a Maduka Okoye’s error.
The team then deservedly came from behind to earn a 2-1 lead following goals by substitutes Alex Iwobi and Cyriel Dessers.
However, a penalty late in the second half earned the Foxes a share of the spoils
Following the game on Friday Iwobi has had a blistering start to the season at his club Everton in the EPL, taken to social media saying “Good test, we go again on Tuesday.”
Speaking ahead of the game, Nottingham Forest forward, Taiwan Awoniyi has described it as a good game that will allow them build team synergy.
“I think it’s going to be a good game for both countries,” he told NFF TV.
“I think Algeria is a country with a lot of talented players as well, but as a team, I think it’s a game that will make us get to know each other more and keep us get to focus on the next challenge.”
Saviour Godwin and Adebayo who earned their first caps for the Eagles also hope for a better result than the draw they got in the first game when they face the Riyad Mahrez-led side on Tuesday.
