Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen has climbed the ranks to become the third most valuable striker globally, according to the renowned football statistics platform Transfermarkt.
With his impressive performances, Osimhen trails just behind the exceptional duo of Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland on the coveted list of top-rated strikers.
Haaland, who plays for Norway and Manchester City and Mbappe, the French talent at Paris Saint-Germain, holds joint-first position as the most valuable player in the world, with a staggering valuation of €180m.
Haaland’s valuation increased by €10m following his sensational treble-winning campaign and claiming the golden boot during his debut season in the Premier League. The small age difference of two years places Haaland in the top spot ahead of Mbappe.
Osimhen rightly occupies the third spot as he secured the Capocannoniere title in the 2022/23 Serie A season. With an exceptional record of 26 goals in 32 appearances, he played a pivotal role in Napoli’s triumphant return to Scudetto glory after a 33-year gap.
Notably, Osimhen also holds the distinction of being Africa’s highest-ranked striker and the most valuable one in the Italian Serie A. Lautaro Martinez of Inter Milan takes the fifth spot with an €85m valuation, while Liverpool’s Egyptian superstar Mohamed Salah is valued at €65m.
In fourth place stands Harry Kane, the talented English striker from Tottenham Hotspur, with a valuation of €90m. Sharing the sixth spot are Kolo Muani of Frankfurt and Christopher Nkunku of Chelsea, both from France, with a valuation of €80m.
Other notable names include Gabriel Jesus of Arsenal, valued at €75m and Alexander Isak of Newcastle
