The former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Uche Secondus, and key members of the party’s Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) for the 2023 general elections in Rivers State have shifted their allegiance to President Bola Tinubu’s administration. This move marks a notable departure from their previous support for Atiku Abubakar, the PDP’s presidential candidate in the 2023 elections.
The announcement was made during a press briefing in Port Harcourt, led by Dr. Abiye Sekibo, the former Minister of Transportation and Director-General of the PDP-PCC in Rivers State. The briefing was attended by prominent political figures including Secondus, Austin Opara, who served as the former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Celestine Omehia, the former deputy governor of Rivers State, Tele Ikuru, Senator Lee Maeba, and Dr. Gabriel Pidomson, who was the former Secretary to the Rivers State Government.
The council, which previously supported Atiku Abubakar as the PDP presidential candidate in 2023, has now shifted its support.
