Supporters of Peter Obi, widely known as Obidients, have criticized human rights activist Omoyele Sowore after he renewed calls for the release of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) leader, Nnamdi Kanu.
Sowore recently disclosed that he had reached out to major political figures such as Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, Abia State Governor Alex Otti, and Anambra State Governor Charles Soludo, urging them to unite in pushing for Kanu’s release.
However, many Obidients took to social media to mock Sowore’s effort, questioning his priorities. One trending comment read, “Sowore that is not talking about the killings in Kwara wants to lead Igbos to Abuja for MNK’s release. Sha use your tongue to count your teeth!”
The exchange quickly stirred widespread reactions online. While some Nigerians praised Sowore for standing firm on human rights issues, others accused him and Atiku of playing politics with sensitive matters ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The debate continues to gain traction across social media, with supporters and critics arguing over whether Sowore’s advocacy for Nnamdi Kanu is genuine or politically motivated.
