The Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, has been briefed by the Controller General of the Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS), Haliru Nababa, on the unfortunate attack on Kabba Medium Security Custodial Centre, in Kabba, Kogi State, by yet to be identified gunmen. During the attack, security officers on duty which comprised of 15 Soldiers, 10 Police Officers and 10 armed guards of the NCoS on duty fought gallantly to repel the attack. Urges Taxpayers Not To Panic The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) has urged taxpayers not to panic over the recent court ruling by the Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt which dismissed its motion for stay of execution of the judgment that Rivers State can collect Value Added Taxes from its resident, stating that “until the Court of Appeal, or even the Supreme Court, determines the matter, taxpayers are required to continue to comply with their Value Added Tax (VAT) obligations within the status quo framework.” The FIRS disclosed this in a statement by the Special Assistant to the…

… Issues “Stop Work” Order To Manufacturers in Ikorodu The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency, LASEPA, has issued a “stop-work” order to two Steel and Iron manufacturing companies in Ikorodu, Sun Flag and Top Steel, for contravening safety rules and permissible environmental standards. The Nigeria Incentive-Based Risk Sharing system for Agricultural Lending has described the report of a missing N150 billion from its coffers as a “ridiculous invention”. This was stated in a statement by the body created by the Central Bank of Nigeria to serve as guarantor for agricultural loans by individuals and cooperatives from banks on Friday.
