PRESS RELEASE Viral video not recent, I didn’t lead a protest against President Tinubu’s nominees-Oyalowo. It has come to my attention that a video is currently being circulated purportedly showing me, Ayobami Oyalowo, in the company of some young All Progressives Congress (APC) faithfuls protesting against the ministerial nomination of some individuals by His Excellency, the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. I want to state here, unequivocally, that the video and the corresponding statement being circulated along with it are false and in no way represent my opinion on the choice of Mr. President.…

Some of the users, with large following on social media platform X(formerly called Twitter),are popular voices in the “Obidient” camp and this has raised concerns among Nigerians who have called for such…

How did it happen?” It was a painful experience. I was a Peter Obi supporter. I made a lot of sacrifices during the electioneering but was abandoned after the attack while defending the Labour Party…

By Michael Chibuzo Following the removal of fuel subsidy by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Day 1 of his presidency, the pump price of PMS was adjusted to reflect market realities. This naturally brought about increase in cost of transportation and commodities such as food and household items. With no commensurate increase in their incomes, the worst hit by this increase in cost of living are the very low income earners who are already below the poverty line. It was therefore necessary to roll out palliative measures to cushion the effect of the fuel subsidy removal on the most vulnerable…
By Michael Chibuzo Biafra. A name that evokes diverse feelings among the people occupying the geographical location known as Nigeria; some being the feelings of resentment, despair, tribal supremacy and victimhood. Before I delve deeper, let me point out that the word Biafra was never indigenous to any tribe in the present day Nigeria. Contrary to claims that it is an Ijaw word, Biafra actually had its earlier known usage in the present day Cameroon. Portuguese explorers as far back as the 15th Century named the bay area extending from the Bonny River through Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea and Gabon as…
President Bola Tinubu has now been one month in office, and we must lay his governance on the examination table, dissecting every step he has taken and every breath he has breathed. Before he was duly elected and legally sworn in, he promised to hit the ground running and so if he has not started running and picked up the pace, then he needs to be prodded. In a word, even the very ground must testify that he has hit it running. Of the four major contenders to be President, Tinubu was the most slandered and the unaware was made…
By Michael Chibuzo Less than 3 months ago, I authored a four-part series where I dissected the petition filed by the Labour Party Presidential Candidate in the last general elections, Mr. Peter Obi challenging the victory of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in February 25th Presidential Election. In that series, I opined that Obi’s petition is the most watery Presidential Election Petition ever in our democratic history and went on to dissect the entire petition to prove it. From the ongoing proceedings at the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal (PEPT), it is glaring that my submissions are proving to be correct. Mr.…
Continuous payment of subsidy on fuel consumption by the government of Nigeria has been likened to economic banditry that works against the interest of Nigerians except few rich ones who can cope without the subsidy. This is contained in a series of social media posts released by a former aide to the Speaker of Osun State, Rt Hon Najeem Salaam, Akinyemi Oluwaseye via his Twitter account @cyberseye05. The post reads: “In Nigeria, subsidy payments manifest in huge revenue drain as well as in massive economic banditry. The skewed pricing mechanism encouraged by way of smuggling across the borders, made it…
