The All Progressives Congress (APC) has clarified that there is no ministerial list yet from the presidency.
Secretary Senator Iyiola Omisore, who appeared on Channels Politics Today dismissed speculations surrounding a purported ministerial list, describing it as a mere fabrication.
Omisore said the party is still in the consultation process, and the list is not yet ready.
This reaffirms the statement issued by the presidency last week, declaring that the circulating list was not authentic.
Omisore emphasized that forming a government of national unity is the President’s prerogative and hinted that the cabinet would not be extensive.
Omisore also mentioned the possibility of merging some ministries to adapt to the present realities.
Addressing rumors of the ruling party being in crisis, Omisore confidently stated, “Our party is cool and calm as an ocean. So far, so good, there is no single wrangling in our party.”
Regarding individuals vying for cabinet positions, he acknowledged everyone’s right to seek political appointments to advance their career and reputation.
However, he emphasized that the ultimate decision to select rests with the President in compliance with the Constitution.
Similarly, APC National Chairman Senator Abdullahi Adamu, in an appearance on Arise TV, expressed the party’s resilience.
He stated, “By the grace of God, we will continue to wax stronger and stronger. We will, by the grace of God, start planning and working until the end of this term, striving to secure another mandate for the second term for President Ahmed Tinubu.”
Acknowledging that mistakes might have been made, Adamu affirmed the party’s commitment to rectify any errors and reconcile where genuine differences exist.
He added, “We will find a way of reconciling with ourselves, especially where we find that there are genuine differences between us.”
