Manchester United secured top spot in the Premier League Summer Series after a hard-fought 2-2 draw against Everton in Atlanta, wrapping up their U.S. pre-season campaign with an undefeated run.
Bruno Fernandes, the standout performer, showcased both clinical finishing and playmaking excellence. After winning a penalty through Amad Diallo’s skillful incursion into the box, Fernandes converted the chance in the 19th minute.
He later delivered the key assist for Mason Mount’s curled finish in the 69th minute, briefly restoring United’s advantage.
Despite conceding an own goal that led to the equalizer, United finished with seven points overall. The match against Everton followed victories over West Ham and Bournemouth.
“It’s improving,” Fernandes reflected. “The club is doing the best they can… Hopefully we can get one or two players more to help.”
Everton’s Ndiaye and Gueye combined to produce the Toffees’ first goal in the 40th minute. The game ended with a stroke of misfortune for United, as a deflection off Heaven from Diallo’s back pass found the net.
West Ham earlier registered a 2-0 win over Bournemouth, courtesy of assists from Diouf, who impressed with his vision and control.
