In a fiery interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today programme, Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike accused former Vice President Atiku Abubakar of being “consistently inconsistent” and a serial betrayer.
Wike also leveled similar criticism at Aminu Tambuwal, describing both figures as having changed political loyalties frequently in pursuit of personal ambition.
According to Wike, Atiku’s political journey over the past two decades exemplifies this perceived inconsistency. He recalled instances such as Atiku switching parties, contesting for the presidency under different banners, and returning to his former party.
Regarding Tambuwal, Wike pointed to his multiple party affiliations and claimed that he sought Senate ambitions, among other political offices, depending on who is likely to win.
In the video clip from the interview used in the post, Wike is seen delivering the remarks during a televised conversation, accusing Atiku and Tambuwal of betrayal and political flip-flopping. He challenges their credibility in leadership discourse, questioning how they can speak of leadership while allegedly betraying political loyalties.
The comments come amid ongoing tensions within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), particularly between Wike and other major party figures.
Wike’s attack follows earlier statements by Tambuwal expressing preference for Atiku over Wike in certain leadership scenarios, which Wike uses to buttress his claims of betrayal and inconsistency.
The allegations could influence public perception, especially as political alignments are being scrutinized heading into future electoral contests.
