The Flying Eagles of Nigeria have been drawn against the host of the Under-20 African Cup of Nations, Egypt, as well as Senegal and Mozambique.
The Flying Eagles are in Group A with Egypt, who won in 1981, 1991, 2003, and 2013, as well as Senegal, who finished second in 2015, 2017, and 2019, and Mozambique, who are making their second appearance in the competition.
However, Nigeria, is competing in the tournament for the 12th time and has won seven titles. Although, the Flying Eagles missed the 2021 event.
The hosts will also be under pressure to perform at home in their 12th tournament, and after not competing since 2017, they will be eager to win back the title they last held.
The 17th AFCON 2023 will take place from February 19–March 12, 2023.
