Abuja, Nigeria – Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, says he will secure an overwhelming victory if he decides to run for the office of the president of Nigeria. The minister made this declaration on Monday during a special media chat with a select group of journalists in the capital city.
Wike expressed deep confidence in his political popularity across the country. He noted that the citizens of Nigeria appreciate his style of leadership and would support his political ambitions without hesitation. To back his claims, the minister pointed to his ability to connect directly with the everyday people of Nigeria.
During the interview, he stated, “Nigerians still love me, and if I run for the presidential election, they will vote for me massively”.
The minister relied on his past political record to justify his confidence. He reminded the journalists of his previous tenure as the governor of Rivers State and his ongoing infrastructural projects as the current minister of the capital territory. Wike argued that these achievements provide enough proof of his capacity to lead the entire nation.
In addition to his presidential claims, Wike spoke about the local political environment in Abuja. He addressed the recently concluded local council elections within the Federal Capital Territory. Displaying his trademark confidence, the minister declared that even if the electoral authorities decided to cancel the results and repeat the entire voting process, the candidates loyal to his political camp would win the elections all over again.
