The Nigeria Police Force has concluded the 15th Biennial Police Games, BIPOGA Asaba 2026, after a week of sporting activities at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba, Delta State, southern Nigeria.
The event brought together police commands and formations from across Nigeria for competitive sporting activities aimed at strengthening unity and improving physical fitness among officers.

The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, who heads the Nigeria Police Force, described the Games as an important institutional moment. He said what began as a gathering of various commands had grown into a clear display of unity, resilience, and shared purpose within the Force.
He explained that the theme of the Games, “Beyond the Badge: Excellence in Action,” was reflected in the conduct of participants throughout the competition. According to him, physical discipline gained through sports contributes directly to operational readiness and better service delivery to citizens.
The Deputy Governor of Delta State, Sir Monday John Onyeme, represented the Delta State Government at the closing ceremony. He praised the police for demonstrating discipline and dedication. He also reaffirmed the state government’s support for sports as a platform for youth development and national progress.
Activities at the closing ceremony included the football finals, a frisbee demonstration, tug-of-war finals, 4×100 relay races, and invitational competitions involving other security agencies. The event ended with a closing concert.
At the conclusion of the Games, Force Headquarters in Abuja emerged as overall winner after finishing top of the medal table. Zone 2 Lagos came second, while Zone 9 finished third.
The Nigeria Police Force said it would carry forward the unity and resilience displayed during the Games into its policing duties across the country.
