Former Niger Delta militant leader, Asari Dokubo has called on the Igbo community in Lagos and other Yorubalands to show more respect to their hosts.
This is coming on the heels of the ethnic claims from some section of the Igbo community regarding Lagos being a ‘no man’s land’.
Dokubo, in a video, described the Yoruba as an accomodative and good-willed people.
He added that such qualities of them should not be taken for granted by the Igbos and other non-natives residing in their land.
He said, “When you put Yoruba people with other people, I found out that Yoruba people are better in all ramifications. They are far accommodative in all ramifications. Yoruba people are tribalist, Yoruba people are these, I didn”t see it.
“I have seen every nationality in Nigeria, I have seen how they behave, I have interacted with them, I have seen everything about them, they say Yoruba people are diabolical, and I laugh. I have seen people more diabolical than Yoruba people yet they open their mouth and criticize Yoruba people.
“Yoruba people are so lenient that in all their cities, you find non-Yorubas. Look at Fathia Balogun, who knows she is from Delta State? she is very visible ad prominent in the Yoruba movie industry. Name one Non-Igbo person very prominent in the Igbo film industry. But you have the Igbos, all manners of people making it, but they will still not respect their hosts”.
