President Bola Tinubu has concluded a 13-day visit to Lagos, where he participated in significant regional and religious events, including the 50th anniversary of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) and the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations.
His return to Abuja was marked by his arrival at the Presidential Wing of Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport at 2:10 pm, where he was warmly received by top government officials such as Senator George Akume, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, and Femi Gbajabiamila, Chief of Staff.
Directly following his arrival, President Tinubu made his way to the International Conference Centre (ICC) in Abuja to officially inaugurate the newly rehabilitated facility. This renovation was carried out under the supervision of the Ministry of the Federal Capital Territory.
In a notable announcement, Minister Nyesom Wike declared that the ICC would henceforth be known as the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre. Furthermore, halls within the centre have been renamed to honor key figures in Nigeria’s leadership, including Vice President Kashim Shettima, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker Tajudeen Abbas, and Chief Justice Kekere-Ekun.
The refurbishment and renaming of the ICC highlight the government’s focus on upgrading national infrastructure to support Nigeria’s diplomatic and political engagements.
