AC Milan has reportedly decided to offload Nigerian winger Samuel Chukwueze after a disappointing 2024/25 season. The 26-year-old joined the Italian giants from Villarreal in 2023 but has failed to establish himself as a first-team regular, hampered by injuries and inconsistent performances.
The Rossoneri’s poor league finish—eighth place in Serie A—has forced the club to rethink its squad composition. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Chukwueze is on the transfer list as Milan looks to raise funds for a major squad overhaul under new manager Massimiliano Allegri.
Chukwueze played 69 games for Milan, scoring eight goals and assisting six, but these contributions have not met the club’s expectations. Interest in the Nigerian winger has surfaced from Real Betis in Spain, although Milan seeks a fee closer to the €21.1 million they paid Villarreal plus bonuses.
The player’s future options include a return to Spain, exploring opportunities in the Premier League, or staying to compete for a place at Milan despite Allegri’s apparent reservations about him. Milan is also monitoring potential replacements, including Portuguese winger Francisco Conceiçao, signaling a clear intent to refresh the squad.
