Five high-profile Manchester United players have formally requested transfers this summer, as revealed by football insider Fabrizio Romano. Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Alejandro Garnacho, Antony, and Tyrell Malacia have all expressed their wish to leave the club.
In response, Manchester United has delayed their return to pre-season training until later in July to allow negotiations and potential solutions to be explored. This move hints at a significant squad reshuffle under manager Rúben Amorim.
Romano stated, “Marcus Rashford, Antony, Alejandro Garnacho, Tyrell Malacia, Jadon Sancho have all informed Manchester United they wish to leave. Man Utd have delayed their return date until later in July to allow them time to explore solutions further.”
Rashford’s departure would mark the end of an era for the club, as the academy graduate and long-time attacker has already relinquished his No. 10 jersey to Matheus Cunha, the club’s record signing this summer.
Sancho’s inconsistent form and loan spell at Chelsea have culminated in his desire to find a new permanent home. Garnacho, a rising talent, is also seeking more playing time elsewhere.
Antony and Malacia, who have faced challenges including injuries and loans, are similarly looking to move on for fresh opportunities.
The club’s leadership is reportedly open to selling multiple players to fund new signings and trim the wage bill, signaling a comprehensive rebuild.
