At Ward L2, Ikoyi, during the Presidential Primary Election held at Ireti Primary School, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu said the exercise demonstrated strong internal democracy within the party and reflected peaceful, grassroots political participation.
He noted that the process had been going very well according to plan, describing it as a true demonstration of internal democracy where every member of the party had the right to participate and be involved in a peaceful and well-organized manner.
Speaking during the exercise, the President said the primary election demonstrated true grassroots politics, where every member of the party was given the opportunity to participate fully in the democratic process.
According to him, the exercise had gone smoothly and in line with expectations, reflecting the party’s commitment to transparency and internal democracy.
President Tinubu noted that the process was carefully organized to ensure peace, fairness, and active involvement of party members at all levels.
He also praised state governors across the country for successfully carrying out the responsibilities entrusted to them in organizing the congresses and delegate processes.
The President expressed satisfaction with the performance of the governors, stating that they had done well in managing the various stages of the electoral process nationwide.
He highlighted the progress made from ward congresses to local government congresses, including delegate accreditation, validation of membership registers, and certification procedures.
President Tinubu described the exercise as an acceptable and encouraging democratic process capable of strengthening party unity and participation across the country.
