Obidient Activist Invokes Curse on Celebrities Backing APC

In a fiery video posted on X (formerly Twitter), prominent Obidient activist known as “Mama Pee” (real name Precious Oruche) unleashed a scathing attack on Nigerian celebrities supporting the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), invoking the Yoruba deity Ogun to “kill” them for their alleged complicity in the country’s ongoing hardships.

The video, shared by @TheBeninBlogger and subsequently reposted by Obidient supporters, has sparked intense debate online, highlighting deepening political divisions as Nigeria grapples with economic frustration and gears up for the 2027 elections.

“All the celebrities supporting APC, Ogun go kill all of them. Every single one of you,” Mama Pee declared in the nearly three-minute rant, accusing them of backing the government “despite its failures, despite the hardship it has brought to many, despite the frustration it has inflicted on its citizens.” She further warned that “every money that you collect from this government just because of your support” would “bring problems from one to another till you come out and apologise to Nigerians.”

Mama Pee, a vocal member of the Obidient movement – supporters of former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi – expressed widespread exhaustion among Nigerians. “Nigerians are exhausted. They’re using their last strength to push. There’s a cry for change in the atmosphere,” she said, criticizing celebrities for using their platforms to support the APC instead of amplifying public grievances. She added that those in positions of influence would “go from 100 to 0” as divine misfortune befalls them.

The post comes amid calls for protests, including the #OccupyNASS movement urging citizens to occupy the National Assembly to demand electoral reforms and accountability. Mama Pee urged viewers to join such actions, emphasizing that “our vote needs to count” and decrying the current administration as “nonsense.”

Reactions on X were polarized. Some users echoed her sentiments, while others condemned the inflammatory language. One reply accused her of hypocrisy, claiming, “Same as you wey Dey follow them eat for corner. This bastrdddd suported apc in Edo election ooo.” Another countered with, “Ogun go kpa! Any body Wey dey support OBi,” turning the curse back on Obi supporters. Defenders of free speech cited Nigeria’s constitution, noting, “Every person shall be entitled to assemble freely and associate with other persons.”

Mama Pee has been a fixture in Obidient circles, often praised for mobilizing youth but criticized by detractors as a “snake” or for inconsistent stances. Her latest outburst underscores the Obidient movement’s ongoing frustration with the APC-led government under President Bola Tinubu, amid rising inflation, insecurity, and calls for change.

As of this report, the video has garnered over 26,000 views, with engagements reflecting Nigeria’s charged political atmosphere. No official response from the APC or mentioned celebrities has been issued.
