APC Presidential Candidate, Bola Tinubu has lauded the leadership qualities of his running mate, Kashim Shettima.
In a statement released by Tinubu’s media office to celebrate the former Borno state governor’s 56th birthday anniversary, Tinubu described Shettima as a bold, courageous, selfless, brilliant and committed leader.
According to Tinubu, leaders are forged in the theatre of challenges, noting that Shettima has had his own fair share of it and have showed exemplary leadership traits in steering his people past it.
“Senator Shettima is an extraordinary leader forged in the theatre of challenges. He led a heroic struggle against the forces of terrorism with intellect, courage and tenacity. He gave succour to the victims while mobilising the civilians to support our military.
He noted the successful intervention efforts of Shettima during the turbulent time in his state, while establishing his ability to raise successors.
“The success of his interventions and help in facilitating the emergence of another excellent leader in Prof. Babagana Zulum as his successor are part of the achievements of our party today in Borno State,” Tinubu said.
He highlighted the readiness of Shettima to serve as the vice-president of the country, saying the energy and dynamism of Shettima excite him.
“I am excited about his energy, dynamism and readiness to serve our country at the center as Vice President,” he said.
