The Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has called out anomalies peculiar to his major opponents ahead of the 2023 elections, stating that what they come with are not what Nigeria needs.
Tinubu berated Peter Obi of the Labour Party for being fond of reeling out ‘wrong statistics’ to hoodwink Nigerians, and Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party for being tired and yet keeps running for election to no fruition.
The APC standard bearer said this while speaking on Friday at a presidential campaign rally in Gbaramatu, Delta state.
While speaking at the rally in Gbaramatu which had Oboro II, the Pere of Gbaramatu, in attendance, Tinubu said only him and a few presidential candidates are still in the race
He said, “As I stand before you, there are a few of us left running. One says he is Atiku. How many times has he been running? He is always on the run and he is tired. Tell him to go and sit down. Enough is enough,” he said.
“The other one think na statistics we go chop. He lies with arithmetic that no Indian can solve. To mention his name is a disgrace to me. I won’t mention the name. Wrong arithmetic, wrong statistics, warehouse economy — that is not what Nigeria needs.
“Your royal majesty, it was a joy to find one of my own blood being part of you from Badagry. So, whatever you need, you need honesty? You need the man who knows the road? That is me.
“I promise, we won’t be far away from you. We will carry you along. We will consult with you regularly. Our brothers here, we will embrace them. A renewed hope is here standing before you and I promise that with the support of God Almighty, you will live long.”
Tinubu met with former leader of the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND), Chief Government Ekpemupolo aka Tompolo during his visit to the state.
He also paid visits to traditional rulers and other Niger Delta stakeholders, where he interacted with the community on his plans ahead of the forthcoming 2023 general elections.
Tinubu, just like in Ebonyi where he bagged a chieftaincy title, was conferred with the title, Iyelawei of Gbaramatu Kingdom by Pere of Gbaramatu Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oboro- Gbaraun II, Aketekpe Agadagba.
