In a sorrowful turn of events, the Ometan community in Okpe Local Government Area of Delta State has been rocked by a catastrophic tanker explosion.
The incident occurred on Friday morning, resulting in the tragic loss of at least seven lives.
According to reports, the tanker, laden with fuel, toppled over on the Warri-Sapele Road, leading to an inferno that engulfed the vicinity.
The fire, sparked by the accident, raged through the area, leaving destruction in its wake.
Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, accompanied by Speaker Emomotimi Guwor and former Okpe Local Government Council Chairman, visited the scene to offer condolences and support to the affected community.
The governor expressed deep sorrow over the incident and extended his sympathies to the families of the deceased.
